Happy National Poetry Month!

It’s the last the day of poetry month and whew 30 days flew by fast. This year I didn’t do my usual 30 days of poetry blog posts. But I hope you still enjoyed the few poems I’ve shared with you this month.

The poem I wanted to share with you I searched high and low for. It was by a female slam poet who blew me away. I found it last summer and swore I shared it on FB but was unable to find the YouTube video with you. Oh well.

Now here’s the final poem I’m sharing today has made me a huge fan of Crystal Valentine. Enjoy!

Did you enjoy reading and writing poetry this month? Discovered a new favorite poet?

Happy Poem in Your Pocket Day!
Last year I shared My Accent by Anna Yin as the poem to carry in my pocket. This year I’ve chosen “Lyric” by Khaled Mattawa.:

So is that a poem in your pocket or are you happy to see me? What poem are you carrying in your pocket?

Happy National Poetry Month! It’s week four and today’s poem I’ve share before. But I believe it needs as many mentions as possible.

Come listen to the poem that made me a fan of Danez Smith.

Are you a fan yet? What are you doing to celebrate National Poetry Month? Who’s your favorite poet? Why?

PS Poem in Your Pocket Day is this Thursday, April 26th. Here’s the link to this year’s poems. Choose a poem, print them out and carry it in your pocket to share with others. I’ll be sharing too.

It’s April 16th and we’re in the third week of poetry month. As before I’m sharing a specific poetry reading that indoctrinated me as that poet’s fan.

Here’s today’s poem by poet Blythe Baird. Enjoy!
