The first book, books really, I ever read was Little Women and Moby Dick. And I was a bookworm ever since. It was known far and wide that I would always have a book by my side. In reality I was visiting as many worlds as I possibly could. Sometimes two a day!
Reading books led me to writing them. My first foray into writing was a fantasy adventure story. Written and illustrated by yours truly. And ghoulish horror cards as I was seriously crushing on Edgar Allen Poe around the time.
Then reading and writing led me to a love of storytelling. Particularly from the Eastern hemisphere of the world. The Greek myths were my favorites. So naturally, I’m a huge Hercules and Xena fan. I also love the Norse and Egyptian myths. Those were some epic stories.
Then I found anime. I will say it now, but don’t bother telling me that anime is a cartoon. Not when it had characters you love to hate and hate to love, characters who made you cry and bleed with them. Characters who tore your heart to pieces when they died. Nope, they weren’t cartoons at all.
Last came manga and Asian dramas. So yup, my love of storytelling has taken me on a journey of cultures, folklore, myths and superstitions. Which has also influenced my writing. Next, I’ll be journeying west discovering more stories. Now if only I could have the Monkey King travel with me.
Oh well.
In the meantime I’ll continue reading and writing young adult fiction, fantasy, romance and poetry.
Thanks very much for following my blog! I’ll be back to read more of yours.

Here’s a suggestion from one chocolate fan to another: try sipping Moscato wine while eating dark chocolate that has 85% cacao.

And I want to share with you my favorite dark chocolate:
Theo Organic Fair Trade that’s 70% Orange Dark that I buy at Wholefoods. I like to combine a square of Theo Organic orange dark chocolate with one drop of Lemon Pie Coco-Roons that I buy at Costco.

Those sounds good 😊. Can’t wait to try that (and soon). Thanks for the suggestion.

Some of them are classics (to me at least). Speaking of which I forgot to add Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind and Princess Mononoke by Hayao Miyazaki’s Studio Ghibli. 07 Ghost, Karneval, Isekai no Seikishi Monogatari, Seirei no Moribito, Kuroshitsuji…okay, going to have to stop. But will be adding Plastic Memories to my to watch list.

Karneval and 07 Ghost, yes! I still need to see Princess Mononoke and Nausicaa, people keep telling me I need to watch them. 🙂 Akatsuki no Yona was a new one I really liked too!

Oh, you have to. And have you read the mangaka’s previous work NG life? It’s hilarious. And it makes you question reincarnation.
