IWSG Day, Re-Reading and Writing Progress Report #1

So what’s going on with me this month?

Well, I’ve made a good dent in re-reading some of my favorite re-reads. First I started with historical romances. And thanks to Kris for figuring out the name of the book I couldn’t remember. Then I moved on to time travel romance. Now I’m reading romantic suspense and only have three more books to go to meet my re-reading binge goal.

But the big news is that the anthology featuring my romance short was released on April 21st. On the other hand, another short was not so lucky. I had a good feeling about this one, more than the one accepted. In the end, I was told they’d welcome any submissions for further anthologies. So that’s good news still, right?

Anyways, Temptation Press The Matched Game is available in ebook and paperback at their book shop. And on Amazon.

 

To keep up with some semblance of normalcy I’ll be on my annual blogging break. So I will only post once a month, every IWSG, until September. Now, here’s my first tri-annual writing progress report of 2020.

Submissions:

• Submitted romance short story “Sensual Delights” to Temptation Press The Matched Game anthology
• Submitted romance short story “What Happens in Caribana” to Violet Press Only One Bed anthology

 

Spring/Summer Writing plan:

• Continue to observe and be alert to when Carina Press Dirty Bits is open again for submissions
• Submit “What Happens in Caribana” to Omniverse Press Only One Bed Anthology
  • Find other presses, magazines, anthologies, etc to submit short to

 

Wattpad:

• No new stories added on Wattpad

 

Writing:

• Revised and edited menage romance short story “The Anniversary Present”
• Wrote, revised and edited online dating romance short story  “Sensual Delights” at 6,211 word count
• Wrote, revised and edited only one bed romance trope short story “What Happens in Caribana” at 5,767 word count

 

Spring/Summer Writing plan:

• Write draft of age gap romance short story/novella “The Reunion”
• Review, rewrite, revise and edit urban fantasy “Hellsgate”
• Extensively outline and preplot Hellsgate sequel as possible NaNoWriMo 2020 novel

May 6 question – Do you have any rituals that you use when you need help getting into the ZONE? Care to share?

The only ritual I use to help get into the zone is audio related. Specifically music. Though I can write without it. But without music, especially the genre geared playlists I’ve created…let’s say my word count is rather dismal. I’m much more prolific and my fingers fly across the keyboard when I have my music playing.
