Happy IWSG Day! Better late than never I always say…as of today at least. But thanks goes to Alex Cavanaugh for making it possible for us writers to come together. in times of need and support.
And thanks to the awesome co-hosts posting today: Toi Thomas, T. Powell Coltrin, M.J. Fifield, and Tara Tyler!

So what’s going on with me this month?
Well I have a cold. My damn little carriers gave me the whole shebang of stuffy, runny nose and sore throat. I’m lucky it didn’t develop into the dry hacking cough I hate. And they’ve only started school less than two weeks. On the other hand, I did get to binge read some Highlander romances and binge watch Stranger Things on Netflix.
Right now, I’m also almost finish with the final romance novella “With a Touch.” Thanks to you all and your suggestions in last month’s IWSG post. I wrote the ending first. Then circled back to the beginning of the last chapter. Only thing left are the middle scenes which I usually waffle through. But here’s my writing progress last month.:

As I’m back from my blogging break I’m also trying to decide my new post schedule. With lots of edits and writing new stories coming in my near future, I won’t be able to post four times a month like usual. I’ve decided to post twice a month instead. But should I post the first and third Monday every month? Or the second and fourth Monday? Should the first Monday of the blog post be an early IWSG post? Or should I post on Wednesday, then post again on the second and fourth Monday? Which brings the number of posts three instead of two.
Anyways, I also have to start preparing for NaNoWriMo 2018. Months ago I thought I was going to write a desert young adult fantasy, tentative title, “Sheba.” But “Hellsgate” completely and definitely took over the position as this year’s NaNo novel. Here’s where you can view the storyboard on Pinterest. Here’s the aesthetic I created:
And here’s its theme song:
What’s going on with you this month?

September 5 question – What publishing path are you considering/did you take, and why?
When I first started writing again I considered taking the traditional publishing route. Then I received the publishing contract for my first poetry chapbook. But I’d decided to self-publish instead. Now I want to pave a path of hybrid publishing. I want to self-publish my shorter works. And seek the traditional publishing route for my longer works. First, I have to finish writing, editing, polishing, querying, etc my other works.
Sorry you’ve been sick.
They say hybrid author is the best place to be.
You could post the first Wednesday and the third Monday. That would be only two times.

Thanks Alex. With hybrid publishing it’s like having your cake and eating it too. And thanks for the new blog post schedule.

That’s doable for both of us. I’ve got some rights returned for my shorts and was wondering what to do. 🙂

There are some traditional published authors who do the same. They self-pub other works, either because their agent/publisher doesn’t deal with the genre of the work. Or maybe because of difference of opinion. Either way, it’s greater control to the author.

Happy Be-lated IWSG Day!
Thank you so much for stopping by my blog.
Sorry, you’ve been sick, but at least you’ve got some reading and watching in.
You could post the first Wednesday and the 3rd Monday.
Congrats on your feature.
I think hybrid publishing is a good pursuit.

Thanks and so very true. At least there was an upside to my not so well health.

Oh boy, the back to school ick. Yeah *knock on wood* my kids haven’t infected me yet. LOL But I’m sure it’s coming. Good luck with figuring out your blogging schedule. I can’t put that sort of pressure on myself.
Fingers crossed you find a home for your longer works!
