So what’s going on with me this month?
I found a picture of Rochelle Aytes on Pinterest and want to base a character on her image but I don’t have a story for her yet.
I’ve also been thinking about how June was my write or die month to finally complete Foreseen. I started the month three chapters away from finishing With a Touch. And starting the bonus story Taming the Beast. I’m two months behind the second part of the 85K90. Which means July to August/September will become my editing hell months. Hopefully, I’ll have a completed manuscript by December. To pitch on Twitter during #PitMad. Or maybe#IWSGPit in January 2019 and #KissPitch in February 2019.
Then commit the last four of months of 2018 towards editing hell with The Soul Traveler. Hope to have my YA fantasy would be ready to pitch by #PitMad March 2019, #IWSGPit July 2019 and #SFFPit June 2019. Always wanted to submit TST to the Writers of the Future Contest. If I’m not too chicken, I’d go through with the submission.
Now, how much have my writing progressed in June?

The first week of June didn’t start off with a bang. Then my time was spent cleaning and doing laundry. Prepping for my son’s graduation to middle school and my birthday. My word count hit a boom afterwards until the tenth. Since I was busy procrastinating binge watching The Tenth Kingdom on Amazon Prime.
Then I started uploading what I’ve written so far for Foreseen up on Wattpad. And went on another binge reading. This time Bella Andre’s The Sullivans series. A romance series about the Sullivan siblings in San Francisco. Then their cousins in Seattle and New York. I’ve finished reading all the current books except for one. Harry Sullivan’s, the last of the New York Sullivans, story which will be released July 18, 2018. Of course I pre-ordered it. They also have cousins in Maine. And I can’t wait to read the about them once it’s published.
June 14th was my best writing day in weeks. Years it felt like. Then I only managed to type a few hundred words the next day. And sneak a handful of words texting in the Gdocs app. The next Thursday, the 21st, was also my best writing day in weeks. I’d also started binge reading another of Bella Andre series. The Maverick Billionaires series. Can’t wait for the sixth book, featuring Ari’s, from book three, older brother Gideon. After reading all five, I’ve deduced that Rosie, Ari’s friend from foster care, would be his love interest. Or it could be Kelsey. Or Lyssa. Damnit! I hope I won’t have to wait too long to find out.
Took the kids to see Incredibles 2 and it was another lazy, stay at home weekend. Which then left me with six days to try to finish the last two chapters of With a Touch. And the short Taming the Beast.
Sunday, June 24th almost became a non-writing day like the day before. The day just went by so fast with doing Google searches for my July 23rd blog post (save the date). And with watching The Running Man and Evolution. Then with cooking and doing laundry. I didn’t notice the day was almost over and I’ve only written 44 words. So with eight minutes to go until it was Monday, I pushed my inner editor off a cliff and typed as fast as I can. After managing to write 136 words in eight minutes I remembered how doing word sprints work for me. And I can write that many in eight, how much can I write in sixteen, in twenty-four, in thirty-two minutes?
On the final day of June I wrote 524 words. Which brought my total word count in June to:
8,238 words.
Which brought my total 85K90 to date word count to:
Somewhere between 77,096 and 77,099 words!
So that leaves me with one to two chapters, a bonus short and at least ~7,901 words to go! 😀
July 3 question – What are your ultimate writing goals, and how have they changed over time (if at all)?
My ultimate writing goals were to publish my books. Have them sold world wide. And adapted to movies. Hey, I’m sure you’ve done it too. Now, my writing goals are to have readers enjoy the stories I’ve written. And making a comfortable living by writing. Still it’d be nice I can also have one of my stories adapted into a Netflix movies or series. Guess I still haven’t completely given up my stories making the screen.
What are your writing goals and have they changed? Are you doing July Camp NaNoWriMo?
PS I went and entered my Foreseen series into this year’s Watty’s. Would love your support during this time. Here’s the link to the tweet about throwing my hat in that you can share on Twitter.
PSS Don’t forget the next #IWSGPit is Thursday, July 19, 2018! 8:00 am – 8:00 pm eastern standard time.
Hi. Am new to the IWSG group. It was interesting to read your analysis of your writing. I confess I do not keep track!

Thanks Nita and welcome to the group!
I never used to keep track either. Except when I’m doing NaNoWriMo. But by keeping track helps me to see how I’m getting closer to my writing goals. It keeps me motivated to keep going.

Kisspitch is new. Their first pitch event was this past February on Valentine’s Day. And thanks Raimey.

NetFlix movie is better than a SyFy movie.
That’s a good chunk of words in eight minutes.
Hope you’ll be ready for the next #IWSGPit in January!

One day I’m going to do more research on how make a Netflix movie happen. Thanks and I hope to be ready by then too.

You are doing great keeping track of your progress. I can barely remember what I wrote the day before. LOL
Best of luck on hitting your remaining goals. And get that submission in! No chickening out.

Awesome with your word counts! I have had some household projects interrupt my writing this past month but hope to get moving again 🙂 I wish you the best with your goals 🙂

Thank you Erika. Though I’ve hit a bit of writer’s block now that I’m almost at the finish line. Sigh.
