Happy IWSG Day!
We’re half way through the year already. That means we’ve had six months of sharing our writing woes. Six months of having the pleasure in encouraging our fellow writers during this blog hop. Once again, all thanks goes to ninja extraordinaire Alex Cavanaugh for bringing us together.
And thanks to the awesome co-hosts posting today: Beverly Stowe McClure, Tyrean Martinson, Tonja Drecker, and Ellen @ The Cynical Sailor!

So what’s going on with me this month?
Well I’m one month into my blogging break. I’m three and half chapters and one bonus short away from completing my adult romance novella series. Passed my first lesson with a 100% in my online proofreading and copyediting certification class.
Just realized my 5 year blogiversary was thirteen days ago.
My son graduated fifth grade yesterday.
And today I’m another year older at 35 years old.
God, I feel old.
And you want to know another doozy? All of these milestones are related to the number 5. I wonder if that’s significant? Like an alignment of the planets kind of thing.
What’s going on with you this month? Have any milestones or recent developments, great or small, going on and want to shout out? Taken any online classes before? Did you enjoy it? Would you recommend it?
June 6 question – What’s harder for you to come up with, book titles or character names?
I have more trouble coming up with book titles than character names. For whatever reason a character’s name comes to me right away as if to say me, me, me! But a book title…oh boy. Before my fantasy WIP Harbingers of El Tinor, it was titled Mythos then Spiritus Mundi. Neither title felt right. Then I noticed a theme of the number three. It started me thinking about power of three, the trinity. Birth, life and death. Father, son and holy ghost. Which then led me to writing three pages worth of possible titles. All related to the number three and my two heroines plus antagonist. Here’s a list of a few of the alternative titles:
Trimurti: Origin of the Trines
Origins: Priestesses of the Trine
Triptych: Origin of the Priestesses
Triptych, Legend of the Cosmic Trine(s)
Ascension: The Priestesses of El Tinor
Harbingers: The Fall of El Tinor
Back to my writing and blogging break. See you next month! 😀
Oh hey, I’m going to be turning 35 in just a few weeks! I did finish my manuscript last month, which is a pretty big milestone, but I’m now realizing how much more work needs to be done. But I’m starting to feel pretty optimistic about it. For some reason, I feel like my 35th year on this Earth is going to be a good year for my writing.

Happy 35 to you too! And congrats on the manuscript. Hoping the work needed won’t be as daunting as you think. Keeping fingers crossed that year 35 is THE writing year.

Happy B-day! Have a great day. I think if t feel it’s like time for cake and ice cream or champagne I shout out, go for it. Life is too short (and sometimes not fun), so enjoy those wonderful moments. I hope the moments come often over the next year and beyond. 🙂

Happy birthday! Don’t worry, you are still very young.
I like The Fall of El Tinor. Has a little mystery in it.

Thanks Alex. I think The Fall of El Tinor came a close second or third. Picked Harbingers because the three ladies reflected and were the bringers of creation, persistence and destruction.

Age is a question of the mind, not the body. =) Congrats on all those anniversaries. I think you deserve some epic cheese, because you better be celebrating.

35 *sigh* That was quite a while ago for me so enjoy it! Congrats on all the milestones! Titles are my trouble spot as well, but it sounds like you tackled it the best way possible.

Thank you Charity. Sometimes I wish titles came to me as easily as naming charactets.

You do not get to talk about feeling old when I’m older than you. LOL But seriously happy birthday!! I face mine in 6 days. Congrats to your son on his graduation. 🙂 And yay for the progress on your stories.
The only online course I took was for my real estate license. Didn’t really enjoy it, boy was there a lot of math, but I passed so there’s that.

One day I will be happy with how I am doing with my writing and I’ll have something positive to say. I haven’t reached any milestones, except that I am at the moment waiting for (and hoping for) the purchase of my first house to go through. Been renting. Which means I will finally have my own space for my writing and be able to get a desk and keep my papers organised. I blog fairly regularly so that’s an achievement

Congrats on the 100% …and also on the 5 year blogiversary!
I don’t know too much about fantasy titles, but that’s an interesting list you have above. The one that caught my attention is –
Harbingers: The Fall of El Tinor
It has a lovely ring to it! Great on the ear.
Good luck with the rest of your adult romance novella series!
