So what’s going on with me this month?

Well I’ve entered the third month of the 85K90 whole and intact. Which also means I have 24 days and most of April to make word count goal. Especially since April is National Poetry Month. And I plan to revise and edit and write a few new poems for my second poetry book. Before I enter the editing months of May and June for the 85K90.
I also have a possible bonus story to add to my current Foreseen WIP series. The story features the younger sister of Joseph Anders from Love Lines. She crashed their interview demanding a story of her own. And specified she wanted a ‘big, strong and strapping’ man. Searched high and low and asked on social media who her male hero should be. And the people chose bachelor #2.
Who would you have chosen?

I couldn’t take part in #KissPitch last month. But I was searching the Twitter feed and supporting other writers. I searched pitches with hashtags I’d used when I’ll have a completed and polished manuscript ready to pitch. And found some great pitches to quote-retweet.

Will be searching the Twitter feed and supporting writers on tomorrow’s #PitMad too.
Now to get back to my writing. 42,773 words left to go!

March 7 question – How do you celebrate when you achieve a writing goal/ finish a story?
I tend to squeal real loud. It would send my sons running to my side to find out what’s wrong. When I tell them I’ve met a writing goal or finished the story they yell “yay !”and hug me and we celebrate together.

Speaking of which, Happy Birthday to my son who turned the big old 7 today!

And sometimes I spread the news on social media to my followers and to family and friends.

In what ways have you recently showed support for your fellow writers? How do you celebrate when you achieve a writing goal or finish a story? Are you participating in #PitMad tomorrow? #DVpit on April 25-26?

  1. I like the way you celebrate. Even though I’m from the Midwest, I’ll let out a woop woop when I feel that rush of success!
I support other writers by reading and commenting on their blogs, buying, reading, and writing reviews of their books, and of course through the IWSG.
    Cheers!

  2. I love s good bonus story.

I’m having trouble deciding between those two men. Maybe if I had details about them and not just pictures. It’s tied for me. 😉

    Keep on writing, girl!

    • Me too. But after the poll and started fleshing out the character more, the more I found that he came across as this flirty, funny guy always looking for a good time. But who was amazingly talented with a camera enough for FMC to believe he can become one of the top ten photographers in the 21st century. If he can stop pissing her off. And somehow I think bachelor #2 fills that bill better. Maybe I’ll make bachelor #1 her boss and give him his own storyline. Who knows?

  3. Happy birthday to your son. My middle boy turned 10 yesterday! WOOT! MARCH BABIES! LOL

Glad bachelor #2 won, that’s who I voted for! Funny how characters start demanding screen time when they really weren’t scheduled to get any. Good luck with your writing!

    • Thanks Meka. Was leaning towards him so glad he won too. Was just thinking of making bachelor #1 the FMCs boss and now I got ideas running through my mind of him pursuing a love interest, a dancer/model from bachelor #2 photo shoot. SMH.

    • Thanks CG. Lol, I’d received a suggestion to have both before but my FMC not that greedy. But luckily, it definitely looks like bachelor #1 getting his own story. Thinking his bachelorette should be based on Lupita Nyong’o from Black Panther. Can’t get her out of my head lately. Now I know why.

    • Thanks Gina. It’s nice that my sons join/support me in achieving my writing dreams. But mostly, they’re in it for the money that comes with being a published author. Lol.
