IWSG Day and NaNoWriMo

It’s November already and the first Wednesday of the month. Once again new and old friends, all of us writers, come out of her little writing holes. And offer much needed support and encouragement to continue on our writing journeys. Of course, thanks goes to ninja extraordinaire Alex Cavanaugh in getting us altogether.

What’s going on with me this month?

Well Halloween yesterday was a success. I was afraid I’d run out of candy the way my sons were handing them out (they were very generous). My favorite costume was a teenager dressed as Naruto the 4th Hokage. In the end I have a bunch of caramel candy left over I’ll need to hide from their grubby little hands.

Now for the pièce de résistance…Happy NaNoWriMo!

Today begins the day where my hero and heroine are brought to the world (of me and my Chromebook) in all their partying, playing and sensual glory.  Oh, what should I put them through?

I’ll be working on the sequel of romance Dream Brotha series and set a personal goal of writing 30k words. As well as finish writing the final chapters of my YA fantasy. In the meantime, I’ll be writing between starting my day, dropping kids off and picking them up at school. Work, laundry, cooking, a full house at Thanksgiving, etc. Whew, it ain’t easy being a working writing parent.

November 1 question – Win or not, do you usually finish your NaNo project? Have any of them gone on to be published?

I don’t plan to win NaNoWriMo. Instead I use the event to write as much of a novel as possible. I’ve yet to have any of my NaNo novel projects published but I hope to one day. So far, I have them posted on Wattpad (three of which are currently on hold), as a way to build readership.
