Well this week’s poetess is Elizabeth Acevedo.

Born and raised in New York City to Dominican immigrants, she  is a National Slam Champion and the Beltway Grand Slam Champion. She is also the 2016 Women of the World Poetry Slam representative for Washington, D.C.
