It’s April 25th which means National Poetry Month is ending in five days this Saturday. Yet, although it is ending, doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy poetry all year long.
So to start with the final five from my favorite poems anthology is a poem by Elizabeth Alexander.
Elizabeth Alexander was born in Harlem, NY in 1962 and raised in Washington, DC. She wrote and recited Praise Song for the Day in 2009 for President Barack Obama’s first inauguration.
