I meant to start off the new year with this post as my first regularly programmed blog post of 2016. But that particular Monday also happened to be my 200th blog post. So did a celebratory post instead. The following Monday was a guest post by author, blogger and IWSG member Anna Simpson for her book “White Light.” And if you’re an amateur detective fan, loved Scooby Doo and Nancy Drew, you can read the post here.
Now it’s the third week of January. Later than I thought, to finally share with you the infographic I’d stumbled upon last year. Every new year brings about the desire to be successful. So I think the following graphic will be of use to you whenever you falter. And need something to invigorate you to not give up.
Whether 2015 was a rough year for you or not. Whether you’re unsure of what you want for yourself in 2016 or not. And whether you’re a fellow book lover or not. These motivational quotes, by fictional characters, will inspire you to take on 2016 by storm. Maybe even change your outlook on books. And or stroke your interest in some of the books/movies quoted.
What are your favorite inspirational quotes from fictional characters? Has something a fictional character said ever touched, inspired and or motivated you? And to do what?
PS I’m looking for a few good bloggers to become blog hosts for my poetry chapbook Can You Catch My Flow? The tour dates is from March 1-April 30, 2016 and if you’re interested, click the banner below to the sign up form. Looking forward to hearing from you! 😀
Oh wow, there are certainly a lot of different quotes here to keep you going and motivated all through the year. I like some of the fictional characters they chose to quote especially as well! It’s fine that this is a little later than usual – we know how it can get with blogging!

Thanks Olivia. And yup and for all areas to achieve success and happiness, perseverance, leadership, etc. One of my favorites is the quote from Jack Sparrow.

I love that mish-mash of character quotes! But I think I was more entertained by their hair and eyebrows. 😛

Lol, I like them too. And I also like how you can guess who some of the fictional characters are. Half the fun from reading the quotes is knowing that you guess right who the fictional character is.

I think they said it all. 🙂

These quotes are great. Dead Poet’s Society is such a great (but sad) movie. Tons of good quotes.

It is a sad movie. And it hits close to home with me. Yes, STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) is important and benefits our livelihood. But I don’t like how the arts and creative programs are pushed out or cut in favor of them. They are important too. John Keating said it best, ” We don’t read and write poetry because it’s cute. We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race. And the human race is filled with passion. So medicine, law, business, engineering… these are noble pursuits and necessary to sustain life. But poetry, beauty, romance, love… these are what we stay alive for.”

I love these quotes. Many have become my favorites. One I found years ago by an anonymous person is, “Success is a do-it-yourself project.” 🙂

I love those! How nice! And it’s good that it’s coming a little later, right when we all need a motivational boost. We had plenty of them a couple of weeks ago and now we’re lacking!

Love these quotes! Gandalf’s and Aragorn’s are my favourites. It is true: what shall we make of our time here in this world? I hope to use mine for a good purpose, a good mission, and do something for children.

I love the quotes too. And yes, success is more than just making a boatload of money. By the end of the day, it’s using our time here to do something that matters. No matter how big or small.
