Happy NaNoWriMo Week Two!
It’s day nine, so how are my fellow participants holding up? Haven’t lost steam yet? Or have you? Well, here’s another round of quotes to help you persevere on this NaNoWriMo journey.
Enjoy!
Which is your favorite quote? Have any writing quotes you’d love to share? Did you participate on Double Up Day this past Saturday? How was your experience?
PS The past few days, I have not been on my usual roll during NaNoWriMo. I was able to write a few chapters of Dreaming of You’s hero and heroine’s mutual attraction. For week two, I’ll be focusing on raising the personal stakes. And introducing internal and external conflicts to establishing a romantic relationship.(Hint: Justin’s biggest problem is Sharon herself. Also, his ex-wife comes back). Also, since I’ve been so unproductive with my daily writing, I’ll be killing myself in the novel. I was thinking of using myself’s character as a symbol. Maybe to further show Sharon that life is too short to not go after what she wants. The question then becomes what does, who does, Sharon really wants.
Happy Writing!
I love the idea of gathering together some motivation! I really liked the one by Anne Lindbergh most of all, but Margret Atwood is a writer I admire so I liked reading from her too.

Thanks and we all need it. NaNoWriMo will only get harder. Then there’s Thanksgiving. My favorite Margaret Atwood quote is “A word, after a word, after a word, is power.”

Love the motivational pics; some are also humorous. 🙂 Thanks for sharing.

You’re welcome. And yeah, I like the ‘crap makes great fertilizer’ one. Because it’s true.

I love the lie quote. A lot of my books can be pretty out-there so I always have to make them plausible. And doing that is so much fun. 🙂
Keep writing, Lidy!!

Yeah. All fiction are lies told in a fantastic tale. But even with suspension of disbelief if it’s not plausible, I’m not going to enjoy reading the story. And the book lover I am likes to enjoy what I read.

Who can’t use a little motivation every single day?! I love the one about being a writer–we are writers, no matter what other people say. We are born writers and we’ll die writers.

I love that quote by Hunter S. Thompson. I remember stumbling onto it and that it was everything I already knew but still needed to hear/read.

Good luck to everyone doing NaNo. I’m not but I got in a few thousand words today in between other projects because I’m jealous of all those words people are writing. 😉

Thanks Kelly. And I know the feeling. But I guess there’s nothing like some word count envy to spur us on. Happy writing and good luck with your other projects! 😄

Great quotes! I have the Wordsworth hanging in my writing space. Love the Anne Morrow Lindbergh. I also like Margot Atwood’s tough love advice!

Thanks Kim. And yeah, that tough love advice is really tough. But sometimes it’s needed to kick us in the rear whenever doubt and discouragement creeps in.

That Hunter S. Thompson quote really got to me. Until the dark thumb of fate presses me to dust, eh? Keep writing, Lidy, and have fun with NANO!

Love that quote too. It always makes me realize that no matter how many times I falter or stumble or detour, there’s nothing I can imagine being than a writer.
