Did you know that August 26 is Women’s Equality Day? It was commemorated to celebrate the passage of the 19th Amendment on August 26, 1920. Which also marks today as the 95th anniversary granting women the right to vote.
To celebrate and learn more about Women’s Equality Day, visit the National Women’s History Project. Or download the Women’s Equality Day brochure.
And remember, to always exercise our right to vote. In every election. Big and small. Let’s not tarnish and take foregranted those brave men and women’s efforts.

I’m at a medical conference today. I guess that’s a form of equality in some way. After all, it wasn’t all that long ago there were few women in medicine. 🙂

Hi Carrie! Are you enjoying the conference? And you’re right, so here’s to more women employed in fields that weren’t as open to us as in the past, with the same pay as men.

Yes, it’s a great conference, thank you. 🙂

That’s cool! I didn’t realize there was a day for it. I work in a predominantly male environment, but I’m thankful that I have the opportunity to work in my occupation at all. The playing field is evening out, which is great. 🙂

Yes. I’m curious and excited for the centennial in 2020. The goal is to have a woman on the $20. Womenon20s.org did a poll/survey and Harriet Tubman was the people’s choice.

Well, I’m celebrating by doing whatever the heck I want, because I can. Haha.. I don’t know. Not really celebrating it, I guess. Just thankful!

Lol, yeah. There’s a whole lot less restrictions today as it was back then, so we do can do as you said.

How did I not know that Women’s Equality Day is today?
Yay for equality!!!!! We need more of it!
I wish I could’ve done something to celebrate but I’ve been making downloadable PDFs. I guess that counts though because I’m trying to furthering my career as a woman.

I didn’t know there was a Women’s Equality Day. I’m glad there is one. I always vote, and I bring my kids with me so they’ll grow up to be voters, too. Women have made progress with equality, but there’s still a long way to go. Forward, ho!!

Yes, we still have a ways to go. And that’s so great that you bring your kids to vote. I’ve brought mine on occasion, when I’m able to. It’s always best to instill in them from an early age the importance of voting.

Hi, Lidy – Thanks for bringing this occasion to the forefront. You’re right — we should never take our rights for granted. 🙂

Any action/event where we’re furthering our skills/careers (ex the creative profession of working on your novel) is a definite cause for celebration.
